The effects of the past continue to have a significant impact on us even while the world continues. In order to predict the future, researchers, scientists, and strategists actually examine the trajectory of history. That is how history holds power. Therefore, it is essential to keep up with it. Be it in form of movies, documentaries or books…historical literature has its own charm.
Personally, I am a huge historical fiction buff and that is exactly why I’ve been raving about “Beyond D-Day Blunder” ever since I picked it up last month. Before getting into the premise, let’s talk about the author. His name is Som K. Ajir and it would be an understatement to say that he’s my new favorite historical fiction writers. As for qualifications, the thing that stood out most for me was the fact that he has experience with multiple consultancy businesses, even one that focuses on green energy. Furthermore, even with so many qualifications and relevant experience under his belt, he has written an amazing novel and proven himself as a writer.
As for the book itself, it’s a great way to understand power dynamics and imbalances in states of conflict. Som skillfully reimagines the events in history and brings it all together wonderfully into a story that stays with you.
America is a nation with a rich political history and every one of us can stand to benefit greatly from studying our great leaders of the past. The way they shaped current events today and left their distinct mark on the world is fascinating to the mind, whether you liked them or not. Then again, both taking action and doing nothing can have an outcome. Readers can gain a deeper grasp of the country’s past, present, and potential future by reading about these notable figures.
Som K. Ajir does an amazing job at informing you about significant events while bringing his own creative touch to it. The tales of tragedy the Germans faced will have you shaken to the core. Another commendable trait of this author is how he draws a subtle yet powerful comparison between the outcome of Germany’s major conflict and where America is headed. The message is so powerful, it almost jumps out of the text to open your eyes to the many injustices and truths of the nation. Historical fiction is a delight in every sense of the word for individuals who enjoy learning about how history has influenced and shaped past events…and Som does it like a master of the skill.
Moreover, political and historical intrigue inside, the author has added a more human touch to it by gracing us with a beautiful romance. The forbidden and risk factor definitely added a lot to it. These stories and elements really resonate with you when you turn the last page and leave you with a lot to think about.
So do yourself a favor and pick up this book! You’ll thank me later.
